Carolyn Skalnek is a Reiki Master/Teacher and has been practicing Usui Reiki since 2000. Originally, the idea was to learn Reiki for her own self-healing, but has developed into a career, a pathway for volunteering and personal growth. |
| Skills/Specialties |
Reiki (pronounced rA- kE) is a modern therapeutic application of the ancient, traditional Japanese art of deep healing and relaxation. Not only do some spas offer Reiki, but many medical institutions also offer this service as it’s been proven to be useful in alleviating symptoms and cancer related side effects from chemo and radiation.
Clients are amazed at the level of relaxation obtained in just a single session of this energy work, but also feel “recharged and balanced”. Many clients report positive changes physically, emotionally and spiritually. |
| Client Story |
For example, Judith, is a client who was ill and recovering from surgery with several complications. She was so happy to report back that her husband was astounded at the way she “glowed” after just one session.
If you are interested in a body, mind, spirit approach to enhance your well-being, now is the time to make an appointment for a Reiki treatment with Carolyn. |

I worked with a client that has a severe form of fibromyalgia. She suffered from chronic
pain and stiffness, chronic fatigue, as well as sleeplessness. In the initial treatment plan, I
worked with her on a regular basis (once a week for two months). After the second massage,
she called me and expressed great amazement in how well she was now feeling. Before
treatment she was lucky to get 4 straight hours of sleep, after treatment she was resting a
full 8 straight hours! She was even happy to report she was able to take on the task of
cleaning her house by herself and take a nice walk. "What a great benefit massage is to me, it
really helps me have a better life!" (Bernice). I greatly enjoy helping her to relax with the gift
of massage! |

| Favorite Client Story: |
Carrie started receiving massages from me when she became pregnant and started experiencing back pain. She scheduled a Prenatal Massage once a month throughout her pregnancy. Her regular massages helped ease her aches and pains, increased her flexibility, reduced her stress, and helped her bond more with her baby. After a week of being overdue she scheduled a reflexology session (with a doctor's note) to stimulate the onset of labor, which she was desperate for! During her appointment she started experiencing her first contractions. She labored all night and the next morning her healthy baby boy was born; on my birthday! |
